FAQ's about Coaching

1. When can ElderWise Family Coaching be helpful?

When questions arise about age-related health, housing and relationship issues, coaching can help you and your family handle new – sometimes urgent – situations. We help you discover your options and make informed decisions. Our practical tips help you act on your plans...and get results.

When your family faces serious health problems, coaching can help you cope with the distress. Coaching can also give you individual, personal support in your caregiving role. Our one-on-one attention can add to the benefits you receive from participating in support groups.

 2. How is ElderWise Family Coaching different from counseling or therapy?

COUNSELLING helps people find relief from emotional or mental health problems affecting their daily lives, or to improve relationships affected by these problems. COACHING focuses on information, support and practical tools. It helps you move forward, equipped with new knowledge, insight and skills.

Often, families look to us for a framework to help them make informed decisions...and to manage relationships – among family members or with outside parties like health care professionals. Coaching offers ways to find shared solutions. Often, it takes only one meeting for you to get on track.

3. Who should participate in ElderWise Family Coaching?

Any family member can participate. Ideally, several family members will come together to make decisions that serve everyone’s best interests. The family can then move forward on urgent and important matters.

4. What results can we expect from ElderWise Family Coaching?

Clients say they leave a coaching meeting with more knowledge and a new understanding of their options. They feel relief, gain a new sense of direction, and have an action plan to implement at their own pace. Clients may receive a written information package tailored to their specific needs.

Coaching is available by phone or personal appointment. To find out whether coaching would be right for you, please contact us by phone or email. We'll let you know how we can help.
